SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! 2026.08.04 - American Psycho - Patrick Betamale is a stressed guy who does nothing at work and loses his mind. He tries to fit in so hard that it destroys him, because he's a beta male. He didn't need to compete or try to live up to society's standards, in a place where noone is listening to each other, all doing the same pointless ego bullshit with office lunches and clubs and shit. He's not a winner. And at the end, he just sees how empty all of this bullshit is, and he is completely calm. Noone is leaving this room alive. I really love his over-the-top recitals of CD reviews. I swear, he memorized some dipshit reviewer in order to seem more intelligent. Kinda misses the point of art and music, to have your personal taste conform in every single point in your life so that other people like you. Interview with a Vampire (90s) - Gay and moody as fuck. Very goth. Felt awful for Claudia, stuck in a child's body, that actor played it very well. I was convinced. Love Louis' revenge arc on literally fucking everyone. Ending was great. The Whole Nine Yards - Mock Tarantino humor in a romcom about the hitman next door. It's as bad as it sounds, but kinda funny. Stargate - Space Egyptians. Lol, superior alien, get rekt by a bunch of desert insurgents. I... I don't believe this movie. That alien dude should have an army at least six times bigger than this. The Ninth Gate - Umberto Eco wrote this, I swear. Johnny Depp is a book dealer trying to verify a satanic manual so his client can meet the devil, and it turns into a thriller. Actually neat, if you enjoy Umberto Eco. The Departed - I watched this a LONG time ago religiously. I have to say the movie is great, it's about a circle of lying and crime and deception, but the ending is bullshit drama so everyone can die. Operatic, as they themed it. Also crime doesn't pay, the criminals are infertile. Daddy issues everywhere. About the ending -- Costigan could've literally said, "I'm the undercover cop, here's your fucking rat" or shot Matt Damon in the face in his office or done LITERALLY ANYTHING other than try to face him alone. And then gone into witness protection and disappeared. Ending is stupid as fuck. 2026.01.06 - Boondock Saints, Semipro, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, Reservoir Dogs. Reservoir Dogs is disturbing. I think Tarantino loves violence and torturing the audience, and his art feels tryhard. It's definitely a really odd, terrifying, and memorable movie halfway between art film and genre film. Boondock Saints -- Great, I based my personality on trenchcoat guy. Fucking love it. Hate Rocco, he was gonna fuck them up guaranteed. Also Tim Roth's character for selling them out and Harvey Keitel for holding onto his foolishness and getting everyone killed. It's unnerving to be on the side of the bad guys and hating the "good guys," it's very ironic that the undercover cop was shot by a civilian for stealing a car. As much as that torturer guy was a sociopath, at least he kept his cool. But... he DID start shooting civilians during the robbery and caused everything to go to shit, so technically he's also responsible for everything going wrong. If anything, Reservoir Dogs points out how classic Gangster Honor got them all killed. I definitely liked Boondock Saints more. I think I like it more than the Matrix, actually. The Matrix has a cool concept, but it's so hyped, and as part of a trilogy some of the coolest action doesn't come until later.
